Patrick Sturgis is Professor of Research Methodology in the Department of Social Statistics & Demography at the University of Southampton.
My research interests are in the areas of survey methodology, public opinion and political behaviour, science in society, and social mobility.
Patrick Sturgis is Professor of Research Methodology and Director of the ESRC National Centre for Research Methods (NCRM). He has a BA in Psychology from the University of Liverpool and a Master of Science and PhD in social psychology from the London School of Economics. His research interests are in the areas of survey methodology, statistical modelling, public opinion and political behaviour, public understanding of science and technology, social capital, and social mobility. He chairs the methodological advisory committee of the UK Household Longitudinal Survey (Understanding Society) and is past-President of the European Survey Research Association (ESRA, 2011-2015).
