Congratulations to Dr. Mary Gobbi who has been appointed to the Commission on Accreditation (COA) by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Board of Directors. Mary will be assisting in the endeavors of the various ANCC programmes which are having an ever increasing impact on nursing and inter-professional education internationally, and which provide support to the COA.

Congratulations to the Child Branch PG Dip student group who won the balloon debate concluding the Long Term Conditions module on Friday August 1st. The group presented their business case for a smart phone app to support self-management in adolescents with diabetes. The group won book tokens and received winners’ medals.

Well done also to Year 2 Bachelor of Nursing students Lucy Franklin and Nicky Larcombe who won Long Term Conditions balloon debate held on Friday 11 July 2014. Their proposal and a high class presentation for a dedicated transition nurse role to help people transition from paediatric to adult services captured the hearts and attention of voters.
