A relatively brief UEB meeting this week, with a number of members on annual leave, and this week chaired by the Senior Vice-President (Academic):
- The main focus of the meeting was for an update on last week’s highly successful Confirmation and Clearing. We entered Clearing in a very strong position, with our courses over 95% full, and the remaining places were quickly filled with well-qualified students, most of whom met our standard entry requirements, or in some cases were just one grade below. As a result, we were able to exit Clearing at 15:00 on A Level results day, last Thursday, with the exception of a few programmes in Health Sciences, which themselves closed on Friday afternoon. We have now achieved in full our overall undergraduate recruitment plan numbers, which is excellent news.
- UEB members expressed their deepest thanks to all the teams across our professional services and academic schools who worked so well together to ensure such an extremely successful outcome, which is also testament to our growing reputation as a world class University.
- The meeting ended with the regular review of the University Risk Register.
The next UEB meeting is on Tuesday 6 September.
