Wilson previously completed his BSc (Accounting and Finance) and MSc (International Banking and Financial Studies) both at Southampton Business School after which he worked in the Banking industry in Kenya for just under 2 years. He then began his pursuit to achieve his lifelong dream of being a PhD holder and academic. 

He has served in various representative roles at the University being the Course Representative in his 3rd Year, and the Postgraduate Taught Representative in the Student-Staff Liaison Committee.

He is currently a Senator at the Students’ Union, and an Administrator & Demonstrator at the Business School Bloomberg Trading Suite.

He has also been active in Societies being a founding member and president of the Anza Society.

Research interests

The aim of his doctoral research is to capture the social value of microcredit by assessing the changes experienced (financially, socially and mentally) in the participants’ lives from point of accessing credit (baseline), and the end of the credit facility (endline) in a fieldwork to be carried out in a grassroot community.

His research interests take an interdisciplinary approach that encompasses the fields of business ethics, diversity and inclusivity, and economic policy.
