Student accommodation fees and contracts

Here you can find our student accommodation fees for the 2020/21 academic year.

Contracts

You’ll sign a contract with us when you accept a room in our halls of residence.

We offer 4 different contract lengths: 36 week, 38 week, 40 week or 51 weeks. This means you can choose to pay more and stay in your room during holiday periods, or move out during holidays to pay less.

Some contract lengths are only available for certain rooms or halls. Your contract options will be shown to you when you apply for accommodation.

Paying your fees

You’ll pay for your accommodation in instalments. These are charged at the start of each term. The 2020/21 payment dates are:

  • 12 October 2020
  • 4 January 2021
  • 19 April 2021
  • 1 July 2021*

*51 week contracts only

Changing your contract

You cannot change to a shorter contract after you accept your accommodation offer.

You can choose a shorter contract and apply for extra summer accommodation if you need to stay in halls over summer. You can contact us to arrange this from the spring term onwards.

If your course ends after 1 July we recommend you choose a 40-week contract and contact us for an extension (known as an ‘out of term residence’) to cover your full study period.

Included in your fees

Your accommodation fees include:

  • all your utility bills (gas, electricity, water)
  • wi-fi and high-speed internet connection
  • Unilink bus pass for Southampton halls
