The University of Southampton's India Centre for Inclusive Growth and Sustainable Development provides a platform for our research leaders to come together with policy-makers and business and industry partners to deliver evidence-based solutions and unlock the opportunities for policy change, inclusive economic growth, technology and sustainable development for India.
I am one of the founding directors of the India Centre, and have seen it develop to brings experts from across the University together in a wide variety of disciplines to focus on this unique and important country.
My roles as Professor of Demography and International Social Policy, Director of the ESRC Centre for Population Change and Vice President (International and Global Engagement) are all highly relevant to the India Centre and its core purpose of delivering multi-disciplinary research and knowledge exchange.
