Freya Malcher is a Postgraduate research student for Engineering and Physical Sciences at the University of Southampton.
Freya obtained her MEng in Acoustical Engineering from the University of Southampton in 2017. She first got excited about ultrasonics during her individual project in the 3rd year of her undergraduate degree. After completing a Group Design Project on Unmanned Aerial Vehicle technology in her 4th year, and undertaking work experience placements in building acoustics and F1 racing car dynamics, she has now returned to ultrasonics for a PhD entitled ‘Investigation of cleaning using an ultrasonically activated stream’.
She is an active member of NAMRIP, and even from her undergraduate days has been active in helping in NAMRIP’s public engagement activities.
Her work is funded by Sloan Water Technology LTD.
