Haoche is a Postgraduate Research Student in Human Geography within Geography and Environmental Science at the University of Southampton.

Haoche held both BA and MA in Human Geography from National Dong Hwa University in 2015 and 2018 respectively. He received the scholarship sponsored by the Taiwan Ministry of Education after passing the examination of overseas study in 2017. His funded PhD research is focusing on the development of social enterprises within cities in both the UK and Taiwan.

Besides his academic career, Haoche was both the co-founder and chairman of National Dong Hwa University Credit Union (2016 - 2018). As an activist to share the ideas of co-operative economics, he took an active role to introduce such knowledge to students and staff by making speeches or conducting group discussions with the method of World café or Open Space Technology.

Research interests

Haoche is interested in the economic and social dynamic of social enterprises being within the blurred boundary between the public, the private and the third sector caused by neoliberal discourses and policies. On the other hand, he is also interested in the dual role of social entrepreneurs, as both a trader and social worker, and exploring the paradoxical position of such entrepreneurs which they have the task of achieving both social and commercial goals for the well-being of local communities.

Alongside the issues of social enterprises and social entrepreneurs, he is keen on exploring the activist alternative economic possibilities, advocated by J. K. Gibson-Graham, especially in the representation of co-operative economy which constitute a practical approach to the praxis of the common.
