I am a Senior Teaching Fellow in the Academic Centre for International Students, part of the Faculty of Humanities at the University of University of Southampton.

I hold a B.A. (Hons) in French Language & Literature; P.G.C.E. in Modern Languages and English; RSA/UCLES Diploma in TEFLA; and a Graduate Diploma in Law (C.P.E.).

I have had extensive and varied experience of managing, designing and teaching language courses to a wide range of nationalities from all corners of the world whilst based in the UK and in Europe.

Research interests

My pedagogical research interests include English for Specific Academic Purposes; English for Academic Purposes; and Second Language Acquisition.


Since joining the University of Southampton in 2005, I have been involved in teaching and leading Pre-sessional, in-sessional and credit-bearing English language courses to pre-undergraduates (International Foundation Year Programme), undergraduates and post-graduates.

I am currently coordinator for the English Plus: Study Abroad Programme; coordinator for the English for Study Year Abroad module; coordinator & tutor for English Language Stage 4 module; coordinator & tutor for English for Law module (International Foundation Year Programme) and I also contribute to various other courses which run throughout the year. As Observations Leader during the Summer Pre-sessional English for Academic Purposes Programme, I organise and I am involved in observations of Pre-Sessional staff.
