I'm interested in many overlapping fields, including Holocaust studies and education, post-war Britain, museums and public history, film and television studies, history, race and racism.
Alongside British literature of the 18th and 19th centuries, I enjoy teaching French literature in translation. I'm also interested in Jane Austen, and contemporary literature and culture.
I teach creative writing at BA, MA and PhD level, with a focus on fictional writing and narrative non-fiction. I'm particularly interested in narrative craft, as well as the creative and critical in fiction and non-fiction.
