Music Education Final Project

Learning Outcomes

On this module you will put into practice the research and analytical skills that you have learned on the programme. Through group tutorials and and independent study, you will engage with the Final Project research process: • identify an issue relating to music education • develop an appropriate research design • undertake independent research • analyse your findings with reference to relevant theoretical perspectives • present your research in an appropriate way The Music Education Project is the final stage of the MMus in Education, completing work started in the Preparation for Final Project module. Most of this work takes place over the summer, and should be largely independent; you should, however, meet with your supervisor/s over the summer for supervision or exchange drafts and comments via emails. You may submit a complete draft of your work to the supervisor for comments, by a date mutually agreed with the supervisor/s. Supervisors’ comments will primarily address questions of organisation, emphasis and argument. In addition, supervisor/s may supply detailed commentary on prose style for a short section of the draft to act as a model for prose revision in the remainder of the work. (Supervisor/s will not, however, edit prose style for the entire dissertation, principal responsibility for which remains with you.)
