I am currently carrying out a research project on the management of a successful Joint Education Institute from the perspective of the EAP practitioner.

Since joining the University I have taught on many in sessional programmes including the international Foundation year, Pre-Masters, EAP In sessional support for Academic Writing and Speaking.
I have been involved in the syllabus design and the assessments for the Summer Pre-sessional Listening and speaking programmes and have designed the modules and assessments for the Southampton Ocean Engineering Joint Institute at Harbin Engineering University.
I am a Senior Teaching fellow in the Academic centre For International Students which is part of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at the University of Southampton.
I graduated from the University of Leeds in 2001 with BA Hons in Spanish and Management during which time I spent one year in Madrid. I completed my TESOL qualification in 2002 and have been teaching English to international students since then. I Taught on my first Pre-sessional programme at the University of Southampton in 2007 and have worked at this University since then, helping to develop and run the Summer Pre-sessional. I am currently studying an MSc in Education Management and Leadership at University of Southampton. During the year I am Programme Lead for English for the Southampton Ocean Engineering Joint Institute at Harbin Engineering University (China). This is a new collaboration with our Faculty of Engineering and our Chinese partner, in which I have played a pivotal role in creating, teaching and coordinating the English for Engineers modules.
