Biography
Dr Samantha Jane Meredith is a research fellow in Academic Geriatric Medicine in the Faculty of Medicine, University of Southampton.
I completed my MSc and PhD within Clinical Exercise Sciences at the University of Portsmouth while working as an exercise therapist within NHS and community based settings. My PhD research focussed on the impact of emotions and emotion regulation within exercise environments using mixed methods approaches, including an in depth ethnographic study exploring emotional recovery through cardiac rehabilitation.
Broadly, my research interests are in the development of physical activity and nutrition interventions to improve health and well-being in later life and in clinical population groups with particular interests in frailty and sarcopenia.
