Anil started his Lectureship at the University of Southampton in July 2021. Before starting the lectureship, he was a Senior Research Associate (2020-21) and Research Associate (2017-20) at the University of Cambridge. There he worked on vehicle energy efficiency and autonomous reversing control systems, and was the Principal Investigator for a Transport Research and Innovation Grant from the UK Department for Transport.
Before moving to the UK, he worked at the Integrated Vehicle Safety Department of the Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research (TNO) as a Junior Scientist (2015-17). At TNO, he worked on Vehicle Dynamics Control, Vehicle State Estimation and Autonomous Driving projects. During the years 2006 to 2009, he worked at ST Microelectronics and Indian Institute of Science.
Anil received his PhD (2016), and MSc Cum Laude in Systems and Control (2011), from Delft University of Technology, the Netherlands. His PhD and MSc theses were on Lateral Vehicle Dynamics Control and Vehicle State Estimation, and on State Dependent Riccati Equation based Integrated Vehicle Dynamics Control, respectively. He obtained his Bachelor of Technology (2006) in Electronics and Communication Engineering from National Institute of Technology Allahabad, India.
