Biography
Ziman Zeng is a first-year doctoral researcher in Languages, Cultures and Linguistics at the University of Southampton, supported by the Presidential Scholarship. Her PhD project broadly examines how different ways of speaking Mandarin are socially evaluated in online and media-related contexts, with a focus on language attitudes, accent evaluation and the social meanings attached to language varieties.
