Abdulkadir Çelik is an associate professor in the School of Electronics and Computer Science at the University of Southampton, UK, where he also serves as the Director of the Centre for Internet of Things and Pervasive Systems. He received the Ph.D. degree in co-majors of Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering from Iowa State University, Ames, IA, USA, in 2016; wherein he also earned M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering in 2013 and 2015, respectively. Prior to his current appointment, he was a senior research scientist from 2020 to 2025 and a post-doctoral fellow from 2016 to 2020 at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), Thuwal, KSA. Dr. Çelik is the recipient of IEEE Communications Society’s 2023 Outstanding Young Researcher Award for Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region. He currently serves as an editor for npj Wireless Technology, IEEE Transactions on Communications, IEEE Communications Letters, IEEE Wireless Communication Letters, and Frontiers in Communications and Networks. His research interests are in the broad areas of next-generation wireless communication systems and networks.
