About

I am a Lecturer in Research Methods & AI Skills in the Department of Social Statistics and Demography at the University of Southampton, and a member of the National Centre for Research Methods (NCRM). My research focuses on educational inequalities, with particular attention to how students’ and families’ socio-demographic and non-cognitive factors shape both cognitive and non-cognitive outcomes, and how education policies influence these processes. I work extensively with international large-scale assessment and survey data, developing and applying advanced quantitative approaches to address these issues. Methodologically, I specialise in structural equation modelling, causal inference, and machine learning, and I am particularly interested in integrating these approaches to strengthen the robustness, interpretability, and policy relevance of findings in educational and social science research.
