Biography
Ying Liu is a Senior Teaching Fellow in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Southampton, contributing to the BM Year 1 (AK2) and MSc Allergy programmes. Her teaching connects biomedical science, microbiology, and immunology with public and population health perspectives.
Her curriculum design emphasises active learning, accessibility, and Universal Design for Learning (UDL), drawing on extensive experience in open educational resources (OER) and digital pedagogy.
Ying’s scholarly interests include inclusive science education, digital and AI-supported teaching, and public engagement with genetics and microbiology. She is part of the OpenStax Microbiology Ancillaries (OSMA) international collaboration and the Women of DET/CHE mentoring network.
