Biography
Dr. Bo Dong has joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Southampton as a Senior Research Fellow. His research focuses on the manufacturing and processing of glass solid-state electrolytes for next-generation all-solid-state batteries. The project is led by Professor Chris Holmes and is supported by funding from the EPSRC.
Bo completed his PhD at the University of Sheffield in collaboration with the ISIS Neutron and Muon Source, where he focused on using neutron diffraction techniques to study lithium-ion batteries. He subsequently held a Research Fellow at the University of Birmingham, working on Faraday Institution projects related to solid-state electrolytes and cathode materials. He later served as an Assistant Professor (Research) at the University of Warwick, contributing to the European Horizon project focused on the recycling of lithium resources.
