Biography
About
Rozhin Bahrami Kamangar is a PhD student in the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences at the University of Southampton, where she is part of the Royal Academy of Engineering Chair in Emerging Technologies in Intelligent & Resilient Ocean Engineering (IROE). She started her PhD in October 2026, investigating how offshore anchors respond to cyclic loading during storms and how changes in the surrounding seabed soil affect their performance. Her work aims to support safer and more efficient foundation design for offshore renewable energy.
Her PhD builds on her experience with soil behaviour under cyclic loading, gained during her master’s in Geotechnical Engineering at the University of Tehran. There, she used a bidirectional simple shear device to study the liquefaction potential and dynamic response of coarse-grained soils. Before that, she studied Civil Engineering at Sahand University of Technology in Tabriz, Iran.
