Research interests

My research is organised around the area of self-evaluation motives (e.g., self-enhancement, and especially its personality correlate, narcissism) and their socio-cultural moderators and consequences. One of my on-going programmes of research focuses on self-presentational strategies applied by narcissists and the way in which these strategies influence the narcissistic self-concept. My second programme of research has linked personality (i.e., narcissism) and social behaviour, (e.g., consumer preferences, criminality, social support, risky coping) in broadening the scope of my research portfolio in the direction of societal impact.
