Project overview
Objective - to carry out research that will underpin changes to clinical practice leading to an increase in consent to tissue and corneal donation. Aim - to identify the mind map of associations that individuals bring to the multi tissue donation discussion.Design - two phase study applying associative research techniques. 100 archived audio recordings of interviews requesting consent for tissue donation from bereaved family members will be reviewed and the outcome used as exercises in three focus groups. Outcomes and benefits - a framework of associations explicating aspects of the request for multi tissue donation that act as barriers to consent.
