Research project

Evaluating nurses' trauma-informed approach to women's health to develop and share a best practice model, empowering nurses through training and leadership in specialist homeless healthcare.

Project overview

This project evaluates and strengthens nurse-led, trauma-informed approaches to women’s health within specialist homelessness services. Working in partnership with HealthBus Trust, the project explores how outreach nurses support women experiencing homelessness to access healthcare, address unmet health needs and engage with services that are often difficult to reach. Through mixed-method evaluation and co-production with women who have lived experience of homelessness, the project will develop a best-practice model for outreach nursing in women’s health. The findings will inform training, service development and wider knowledge exchange across the inclusion health and homelessness sectors.
