Changemakers
This module works together with all three of the other level 4 modules and will form the foundations of this programme and provide you with knowledge and inspirations to generate idea’s that you will carry forward into your level 5 and level 6 projects.
This module will introduce you to the Change-Makers, the historical and contemporary pioneers, innovators, leaders and disrupters, visionaries and trailblazers, influential artists, artisans and designers from the fields of knit, weave, print, stitch, felting and dyeing for apparel, interior, lifestyle, functional, health & wellbeing, sports and transport amongst others. You will explore the textile change-makers leading the way in Sustainability, Luxury and Ethical Artisanship.
Within this module you will explore, analyse and discuss these trailblazers work, from design inspirations, technical methods, material content, colour, pattern and constructions, end uses. You will investigate their digital media, website, promotional material, publications, editorials and interviews. You will discover how they achieved their success so you can understand and be inspired by their original ideas, unique talent and skills, and individual identities, values and messages.
You will explore and discuss issues, trends, problem-solving and creative thinking, to be inspired to become a Change-Maker like those before you. You will experiment with and discover new ideas, originality, innovation and influence in your own designs, techniques, processes, practices, communication skills and artisanship. -
