Ms Linda Hurley is a Senior Teaching Fellow in English for Academic Purposes (EAP) in Modern Languages at the University of Southampton.

Linda has worked in ELT for fifteen years and has taught General English, English for Academic Purposes, Critical Thinking and British Culture. She is a member of BALEAP.

Linda is an Assistant Director for the Pre-sessional Programmes and a member of the Pre-sessional Senior Management Team (SMT). She has coordinated the Pre-sessional Reading and Writing team for both Course A and Course B since 2012, leading a large team of Class Tutors and Programme Coordinators.

She coordinates English Language Stage 7. She drafts module documents, liaises with staff, monitors student progress and writes assignments and exams. She also leads academic skills support classes on the university-wide EAP Support programme and for PGRs at the School of Medicine. She is a Personal Academic Tutor for Erasmus students.

Course design; materials and development for subject-specific EAP support; culture in language teaching.

In addition to drafting module documents and liaising with other members of the SMT, she directs coordinators and oversees reading and writing inductions and staff development. She also supervises the writing of assessments and exams for these courses.
