Everist's current research focusses on two projects under contract wtih Oxford Univeristy Press:

Ars Antiqua: The History of Music in Europe, 1160-1330.  New York: Oxford University Press, forthcoming [contracted with OUP New York]

Opérette: The First 25 Years.  New York: Oxford University Press, forthcoming [contracted with OUP New York]

He is also concerned with questions relating to the broader context of music in the nineteenth-century theatre, and in the issues of music and the supernatural.
