Kate is a Child Clinical Psychologist, chartered by the British Psychological Society and registered with the Health and Care Professions Council as a Practitioner Psychologist.
Kate works on the Doctoral Programme in Clinical Psychology three days a week. She spends the rest of her week as an independent practicing Clinical Psychologist with Children, Young People and Families experiencing a range of complex mental health, emotional, and behavioural difficulties.
Kate is passionate about enhancing the lives of young people experiencing mental health difficulties and about contributing to the training of Clinical Psychologists.
Kate has expertise in working with childhood onset eating disorders and with adolescents with a range of difficulties and a particular interest in supporting parents.
As Academic Director Kate is responsible for the quality assurance of the academic aspects of the programme. Kate oversees the structure and content of the curriculum, ensures the programme maintains the required standards for education and training (for a professional Doctorate / Accreditation) and reflects current issues within the profession, and maintains University regulations and other education drivers.
Kates other responsibilities include, supervision of doctoral research, being a personal clinical/academic tutor for Trainee Clinical Psychologist, and line management of Staff/Trainees.
