About

David is a Senior Research Fellow in Railway Track Infrastructure at the University of Southampton. He is an expert in the application of sensing technology and analytical techniques for measuring the performance of railway track. His research interests include studying failure, deterioration and physical variability of railway track and associated track assets to inform and improve maintenance. David is involved with a mix of rail research activities from a diverse range of government and industry funders. For example, leading the technical development of the hardware and systems for the instrumented-track technical-demonstrator within a series of In2Track European research projects.
