About
Holly is an NIHR Academic Clinical Lecturer in General Adult Psychiatry with particular interests in perinatal psychiatry and the effect disrupted sleep has on mental health. After her integrated BMedSci and medical training at the University of Nottingham, she started clinical training based in Dorset. She completed an NIHR Academic Clinical Fellowship as a Core Trainee in psychiatry at the University of Southampton with projects around emotional reactivity and sleep and the link between sleep and gambling disorder. Clinically she developed a particular interest in perinatal psychiatry.
During her higher psychiatry training Holly completed a Doctorate of Medicine degree with her thesis entitled “Sleep Disruption and its Association with Poor Mental Health” which included work around sleep trajectories throughout pregnancy and the association with anxiety and depression symptoms.
She started as an NIHR Academic Clinical Lecturer in May 2026 and is aiming to continue projects with a focus on sleep and perinatal psychiatry, including establishing a research network for Mother and Baby Units and is keen to build collaborations. She works clinically as a specialty registrar in general psychiatry.
