About
Yun Luo is a Lecturer in Finance at the University of Southampton. Yun’s research interests include corporate finance, climate risk and finance, syndicated lending, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and the economic implications of public and private debt. Current work also examines how geopolitical risk, uncertainty, and external shocks affect firms, financial markets, and international capital flows.
Yun’s research is question-driven and addresses major challenges facing financial markets and the global economy, including financial stability, corporate risk-taking, debt and inequality, and the economic consequences of climate and technological change. The research adopts a strongly data-driven and applied approach, with a particular focus on using empirical evidence to understand real-world economic and financial behaviour.
Yun’s work has been published in journals including the Journal of International Money and Finance, Journal of Financial Stability, and the International Journal of Finance & Economics. Research has also been supported by funding from the Leverhulme Trust for a project examining whether higher public and private debt levels benefit the wealthy.
