About
I am a Senior Teaching Fellow and Director of PGT Programmes in the Department of Languages, Cultures and Linguistics.
My research focuses on language performance assessment, English-medium instruction, and second language writing. Some of this work has been published in journals such as Language Testing, Teaching in Higher Education, and Linguistics and Education, and in book chapters, including Global Perspectives on Language Assessment.
Before joining the University of Southampton in 2022, I taught English for Academic Purposes and content modules in applied linguistics and ELT at higher education institutions in Türkiye for 13 years (2009–2022).
I would be particularly interested in receiving PhD applications on topics related to language performance assessment and second language writing.
