Hannah King is a PhD student at the University of Southampton. She is currently researching the ecological dynamics of river restoration projects. This includes monitoring the response of salmonid fish to instream wood addition, assessing the colonisation process of aquatic invertebrates and fish, investigating the relationship between invertebrate biodiversity and habitat heterogeneity following habitat creation, and assessing the suitability of young streams for temperature sensitive fish.
Taking a step back, she is seeking to understand and communicate the complex worlds of community ecology, landscape restoration and freshwater systems. This often involves participating in outreach, such as family science shows and stakeholder engagement projects. She is always looking to improve her species identification, poetry, and R skills.
