Andrew Lawrence is a Lecturer in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Southampton. Andrew obtained his BSc in Biochemistry and Chemistry (double Hons) from the University of Southampton in 2003. He then studied for a PhD at Queen Mary University of London under the supervision of Professor Martin Warren (2003-2007). Following his PhD he moved to the University of Kent where took up a postdoctoral research position (2007-2018). He was appointed Lecturer in Molecular Biosciences at the University of Kent in 2019. Throughout this period his research has focused on the enzymology of redox active proteins and the elucidation and manipulation of biosynthetic pathways involved in tetrapyrrole biosynthesis.
