Altay is a Postgraduate Researcher in the School of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Southampton. He focuses on theoretical physics at the interface of AdS/CFT duality and quantum gravity, especially within quantum information and effective field theories in holographic systems.
Altay’s current research delves into leveraging quantum chaos to investigate holographic systems like black holes. Additionally, his focus extends to exploring theories of unimodular gravity, proposing a framework where every constant of Nature has an associated physical time.

Altay joined the University of Southampton in 2024. He received his BSc in Theoretical Physics from University College London in 2022 and his MSc in Quantum Fields and Fundamental Forces from Imperial College London in 2023.
