About
I'm a Lecturer in Digital Media and Programme Lead for the BA Film, TV, and Digital Media degree within the Film Studies department.
My academic interests sit somewhere roughly between media and cultural studies, continental philosophy, and intellectual history, concerned with digital cultures, critical theories and discourses, and the civic role of the humanities. Across these broad and varied areas, I focus particularly on the cultivation of audiences, identities, and public personae, the shifting meanings and valences of philosophical concepts across historical and cultural contexts, and ethico-aesthetic practices of selfhood.
My most recent monograph is Speaking Philosophically: Communication at the Limits of Discursive Reason (London: Bloomsbury, 2023).
