Dr Rashad Fatayer is a Research Fellow in the Integrated Photonics Devices Group at the University of Southampton’s Optoelectronics Research Centre. His research combines optical sensing and machine learning to develop rapid, label-free methods for diagnostics and treatment monitoring. He completed his PhD at Southampton in collaboration with the Institute of Cancer Research (ICR), focusing on DNA and cancer biomarker analysis, and is a co-inventor on an international patent application arising from this work. His current research focuses on point-of-care therapeutic drug monitoring with NHS intensive care and microbiology consultants, alongside endometriosis diagnostics.
