Project overview
A history of the evolution of British Public Administration research in the postwar period juxtaposed with a personal narrative of the part I played in this evolution. I presented a preliminary sketch as ‘The Curse of Presentism: Narratives on the Future Study of Public Administration’. The Frank Stacey Memorial Lecture. Delivered at UKAPA Annual Conference, University of Ulster, Belfast, 11-12 September 2025. I will use this paper as the basis for a book proposal to Oxford University Press in early 2026.
