The Market for Corporate Control: Japan in Comparative Perspective

Project overview

This project involved Bruce Hearn's role as co-PI in a comparative corporate governance data collection of corporate governance, accounting and financial data for listed firms from Japan, US, UK, Spain, France and Germany. The initial award was JPY 2,000,000 from Research Institute of Economy Trade and Industry [RIETI], Tokyo, Japan which is an offshoot of Japanese government ministry. The Principal-investigator was Professor Gregory Jackson, Kings College London and RIETI who was based in Japan at the time
