The University of Southampton is committed to supporting and developing high performing student athletes in their journey to reach their full potential.
Each year we offer athletes the opportunity to develop their sporting potential by providing them with an excellent support network of services. Successful applicants are based on the amount of applications received, each successful applicant will then be awarded one of the following awards: Gold, Silver, Bronze or Talent ID.
Applications for 2022/23 are now open! The deadline for applications is 9th September 2022.
Regional competitor in a BUCS sport with potential to represent nationally at junior/senior level
Major national competitor at a senior level in a non-BUCS sport, or a major national competitor at a junior level in a BUCS sport with potential to represent at senior level
Major national competitor at a senior level in a BUCS sport with potential to represent internationally or in a semi-professional contract
Major international competitor at a senior level or in a professional contract
The scholarship has helped me during my PhD program to attend international competitions, improve my physicality specifically related to the aspects of tchoukball, as well as provide support whenever I have needed it in relation to my personal and sporting life.

Please note that all decisions are made at the discretion of the Sports Scholarship Panel and that fulfilment of eligibility criteria does not automatically qualify candidates for a place on the programme.
Late applications will be considered on a case-by-case basis, but no cash award can be given for that Academic Year.

The University of Southampton strive to support teams that demonstrate the greatest commitment to adopting a performance culture, in the pursuit of sporting success.
The Pathway Sports programme allows teams to apply for additional support, to which 2 successful teams are selected and will receive term time support to enhance their sporting performance. The package will consist of twice weekly face to face S&C sessions on Mondays & Fridays, remote S&C programming, access to face to face & virtual Pilates/Recovery session on Thursdays, Gift towards kit and Wellbeing Training.
