Southampton Ageing and Gerontology Talent scholarship

Two scholarships of £5,000 are available to UK and international students applying to study an eligible postgraduate Ageing and Gerontology programme in 2026.

Eligibility

To get this scholarship, you must hold a conditional or unconditional offer to study an eligible Ageing and Gerontology programme:

You must also meet your offer conditions, including the University’s English language requirements, by the admissions deadline.

How to apply

To apply for this scholarship:

  1. apply to study an eligible Ageing or Gerontology programme in 2026
  2. fill out the scholarship expression of interest form

We will contact you by 30 June 2026 to confirm the outcome of your scholarship application.

We cannot accept late applications.

What to include with your application

When you fill out the expression of interest form, make sure you include:

  • your CV
  • a 500-word statement about why Gerontology or Global Ageing and Policy is important for your country, and how you envision using your degree in the future

How we award scholarships

This is a competitive process, and not all applications will be successful. 

There are 3 stages to the shortlisting process.  

  1. We check that you meet the eligibility criteria.
  2. We assess your academic record and qualifications.
  3. A selection panel will decide on the successful applicant. The panel will consider your supporting statement, alongside your academic achievements to date.  

The decision of the scholarship panel is final.
