About the project

As a researcher on this project you'll use advanced modelling technologies to comprehensively evaluate the impact of inflammation on brain function.

You'll integrate an array of targeted immune markers from blood samples with cutting-edge AI analysis. This interdisciplinary approach will enable us to uncover hidden patterns, identify potential biomarkers, and enhance our insights into the complex mechanisms underlying neuroinflammatory processes.

This PhD studentship is a collaborative project between the School of Biological Sciences and the School of Electronics and Computer Science at the University of Southampton and the University Hospital Southampton.

You'll use the following disciplines:

  • immunology
  • neuroscience
  • physics
  • bioinformatics
  • computational modelling

Project supervisors

Alongside Professor Teeling, you will also be supervised by Sofia Michopoulou.
