Mr Christoph Heuser is a Teaching Fellow & Postgraduate Research Student within Ageing & Gerontology at the University of Southampton.

I joined the Department of Gerontology at the University of Southampton in October 2020. Here, I am working as a Teaching Fellow and acting as a Personal Academic Tutor. I am also contributing to the postgraduate programmes in the Department of Gerontology, and I coordinate the PGT Skills sessions for new MSc students. In September 2020, I started my PhD in Gerontology, focusing on depression and future-time perspective in later life.

I have received my education in nursing management (B.A.) and worked from 2011 to 2016 as a nurse manager in a care home. I started my career as a lecturer in 2014 and completed my Master in Gerontology in 2018.

Besides my role at the Department of Gerontology here in Southampton, I work as a guest lecturer for different Universities, focusing on Gerontology and Social Psychology. Additionally, I act as Book Review Editor for the Journal Ageing & Society.
