Joan Tumblety
Associate Professor
As a historian I am intrigued by how 'wellbeing' emerged as a category of understanding and experience. Studying the promotion of natural health therapies in early to mid-20th-century France helps me understand the role of physicians in shaping popular ideas of health and beauty.
Luca Di Gregorio
Senior Teaching Fellow
At the Centre, we champion the role of the humanities in medicine, health, and medical education. We foster interdisciplinary and interfaculty collaborations to explore the human dimensions of illness, care, and clinical practice. Bringing diverse disciplines together to examine what it means to be human is central to our mission. At a time of unprecedented global and societal challenges, we seek to deepen understanding of the human condition through the lenses of the humanities, medicine, and health.
