Professor Jose Olmo is a Professor of Economics at the University of Southampton.

Jose Olmo has a BSc. in Mathematics from Universidad de Zaragoza and a PhD in Economics from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. He is currently a Professor at University of Southampton. Before holding this position José has been an ARAID research and Associate Professor at Centro Universitario de la Defensa de Zaragoza. José has also held a Lecturer (2005-2008) and a Senior Lecturer position in the Department of Economics at City University London. During this time, José held visiting positions as lecturer in International Economics at New York University in London and Econometrics in the School of Mechanical Engineering at Imperial College London.






Research interests

His main research interests are in Financial Economics, Financial Econometrics, International Economics, Risk Management and Bootstrap resampling techniques in Statistics. José has published in journals of international prestige, such as International Economic Review, Journal of Business and Economic Statistics, Journal of Time Series Analysis, Journal of Banking and Finance or Journal of Financial Econometrics amongst others.
