Dr Markieta Domecka's photo

Markieta Domecka is a Research Fellow within Geography and Environmental Science at the University of Southampton.

Markieta Domecka is currently working on the WORKANDHOME project focusing on the growth of home-based businesses. She joined the University of Southampton in 2016. Previously she worked at the Queen’s University Belfast, University of Surrey and University of Naples ‘Federico II’.

Research project

WORKANDHOME (PI: Darja Reuschke) is a five-year ERC-funded project exploring the social, spacial and economic dimensions of home-based self-employment. The project started in October 2015 with partners in three countries (United Kingdom, The Netherlands and Germany). In the project I focus on home-based businesses with employees: their growth and work relations.
