Dr Dinesh Samuel's photo

Dr Dinesh Samuel’s research focuses on evaluating muscle function and physical performance and their impact on quality of life, and technologies for investigating movement dysfunction, and interventions for preventing sarcopenia, falls and frailty. Dr Samuel was part of a multi-disciplinary project investigating the biomechanical and psychological parameters which limit functional performance of older adults, with a view to integrating these into an inclusive design package. He led an interdisciplinary research involving collaborators from the MRC Epidemiology Resource Centre at University Hospital Southampton and the Institute of Sound and Vibration Research in Engineering at the University of Southampton.

Research interests

I have research interests in musculoskeletal function, outcomes assessment, novel technologies for evaluating physical performance, core outcome set, interventions for preventing falls and frailty and active living with ageing.
