Biography
I completed my first degree in Population Studies and later my PhD at the University of Southampton under the supervision of Professor Roger Ingham.
Since 1995 I have been working at the Centre for Sexual Health Research (CSHR) leading and co-ordinating a variety of projects in both the UK and internationally using both qualitative and quantitative methods; these include work on access to services, school based sex education, contraceptive use and early sexual conduct, service evaluation (static and outreach) and needs assessment.
I have conducted training courses in the use of quantitative and qualitative methods in the area of sexual activity both at home and internationally. I also have experience of handling and analysing large and complex demographic data sets, using both hierarchical and non-hierarchical analysis techniques, questionnaire design and implementation and interview and focus group facilitation.
