Biography
Mary Morrison joined Southampton Business School in 2011 as a Learning and Teaching Coordinator. She became the Director of the Education Development Office in 2015, which works to support both staff and students and enhance education practice in the School.
Mary gained her first degree from Durham University and went on to study for a PGCE at the Institute of Education in London.
She taught in central London for a number of years before working for the environmental group Greenpeace at its London office. After training as a language teacher Mary taught English in Germany for 2 years before returning to campaign work for the International Transport Workers’ Federation on a project with global reach.
Mary then returned to study for an MSc in International Relations in Southampton, where she also completed her PhD.
Taking up her first post in Southampton University Centre for Learning and Teaching in 2005, as Education Development Advisor, Mary led on a range of initiatives to reward teaching staff and enhance education across the University.
In 2006/7 she successfully project-managed the Institutional Audit. She then moved on to manage a large and diverse project to widen employer engagement before joining the Business School.
