Meixian has been the editor of Lloyd’s Shipping and Trade Law since April 2022 and is a member of Institute of Maritime Law at Southampton Law School.

Current research
Meixian’s main academic research is in maritime law and commercial law. She has recently published articles in Legal Studies, Lloyd’s Maritime and Commercial Law Quarterly, Journal of Business Law and British Insurance Law Association Journal. Her first monograph based upon her doctorate research at Southampton Law School, “Causation in Insurance Contract Law”, was published in 2014 with Informa Law from Routledge.
Meixian is currently working on the second edition of the book.

Teaching
Meixian teaches on a variety of modules relating to Shipping and Trade Law, including Carriage of Goods by Sea, Marine Insurance Law, Insurance Contract Law, Commerical Law and Contract.
She has been contributing to the delivery of the Institute of Maritime Law Short Course for shipping practitioners. Meizian is also a Fellow of the AdvanceHE.

Biography
Meixian was Lecturer in Law at Southampton Law School between 2016 and 2022. Before joining Southampton Law School, Meixian was a Lecturer at University of Exeter; she also taught LLM shipping law courses at the CCLS, Queen Mary University of London.
