Madison Stevens is a postgraduate research student at the University of Southampton Law School.
Madison is a double-graduate of Southampton Law School, recieving her LLB in 2019 and LLM in 2020. During her masters studies in Insurance Law, she developed an interest in maritime law after studying modules such as Marine Insurance Law and Admiralty Law.
Her PhD, funded by the Southampton Marine and Maritime Institute (SMMI) and Southampton Law School, looks at the regulation of solid bulk cargo liquefaction.
Her research is part of an multidisciplinary, multi-stakeholder project on solid bulk cargo liquefaction run by the SMMI. The project, funded by the Lloyd’s Register Foundation, aims to address strategies for effective control of solid bulk cargo liquefaction from regulatory, engineering, and data and communications perspectives. As part of the project, Madison is part of a wider team consisting of academics from a variety of different disciplines.
Madison is also currently co-editor-in-chief of the Southampton Student Law Review.
